“Designed by famed Bridal Designer Wendy Makin, the french collection fuses modern elements with classic styling and luxe fabric, perfect for the contemporary romantic bride. Our bridal collection plays on contrasts of the delicate, bold, daring and dainty by using exquisite laces, ornate beading, floaty tulles and luxurious crepe.
Taking over from the 'Belladonna Bridal' collection starting in 1999, The french collection philosophy is forged from the Wendy Makin beliefs of making brides beautiful. To do this the team works tirelessly with retailers and brides honing the designs and developing the style of the collection. From this co-operation the Wendy Makin team has developed a much more wearable gown. Their accent is now on comfort for the bride in a more wearable gown focused on fit and shape rather than too much boning and structure which makes the gowns too heavy and uncomfortable.
A lot of this development has also come from the labels reputation for doing “Destination Gowns” very well. Many of the french collection gowns are extremely popular with brides getting married at a destination such as the Whitsundays, Fiji, the Bahama’s or even Positano in Italy. The fabrics and construction make them perfect for taking out of your suitcase to wear for your wedding with the minimum of fuss.
