Frequently Asked Questions

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A DRESS?

We work with brides with both short time-frames and long-frames. We recommend for all of our brides to order as soon as possible so we can begin fabric allocation and so fabrics/styles won’t be discontinued. Once you know, you know, right! We work off a production and delivery time frame based on the date of your wedding.  Ordering approx. 6-8 months ahead ensures time for any alterations or tweaks (4-6weeks) once the gown arrives. If your wedding is sooner, get in touch with us at sales@belladonnagowns.com.au as we have rush delivery options or if you have any questions regarding our ordering times.

I LIVE OUTSIDE OF AUST, NZ and U.K, CAN I STILL ORDER A GOWN FROM YOU?

Get in touch with us at sales@belladonnagowns.com.au and we can take you through your options.

MY STOCKIST DOESN’T HAVE THE GOWN INSTORE, CAN A SAMPLE BE SENT FOR ME TO TRY ON?

Absolutely! Speak with your closest stockist as to which gown you wish to try (and approx. size) and they can arrange for us to send the dress to them for you to try. Please note there may be a small fee incurred.

I AM HOPING TO LOSE A BIT OF WEIGHT BEFORE MY SPECIAL DAY, IF I ORDER NOW WILL MY DRESS STILL FIT ME?

It is quite a common question. We will always try and find a balance when ordering and factoring for fitness goals prior to your gown arrival. Most of our gowns have an element of stretch to them so if you go down a size, it should still fit well. If you still require a few tweaks, due to the simple, clean lines of our gowns they are easier to alter than most and we can arrange alterations in house for you or you can arrange them somewhere closer to home!

CAN I ORDER A SWATCH OF MY GOWN?

Yes, let the store know when you are ordering and they can add it to the form we receive. Swatches can take up to 4-6 weeks from the source but we endeavour to get to you as quickly as possible.

CAN I CUSTOMIZE A STYLE?

Some of our gowns do have options with long/short sleeves, beaded/unbeaded, or lining colour changes. Aside of this due to our high levels of production, we cant customise outside of the options we offer. We can however order additional fabric for you (Price on Enquiry) and you can have alterations made once your gown arrives. We love seeing brides unique take on our designs!

CAN I BE CONFIDENT IN YOUR LABEL?

The Wendy Makin Group has been operating for 25 Years, our enduring Business is a testament to our stringent quality control and service to brides. Your gown is quality controlled at all levels so you can be assured your gown will be flawless. We do recommend trying on the gown instore before you take it home so you (and us!) can sleep easy knowing your gown is perfect, it is important to keep in mind do this without makeup and fake tan so as not to stain the gown before the day! You may still require alterations to make it perfectly tailored for you. Also note the gown may fit differently or have a slight colour variation to the sample as it has been tried on by many brides and may have stretched or has been faded in direct sunlight. However, if you think something is wrong with your gown, please get in touch with the stockist you purchased through without delay.

RETURNS/CHANGE OF MIND

Once you place an order with us, it is scheduled into production within 48hrs. After this time we cannot cancel the gown as it made to order. It is also subject to the terms and conditions of the stockist you order through. If you change your mind on style we cannot offer a refund, however as above if it has not been put into production we can change the style. Once it is put into production, the style is locked in.
